Big changes are happening at DeMontrond® Gulf Freeway in Texas City—sales are booming and Chevy is Back!
In 2008, General Motors' bankruptcy nearly eliminated DeMontrond® Chevrolet, creating significant challenges for the store that had joined the fifty-seven year history of the DeMontrond® dealerships in 1998. The fourth-generation family-owned dealer group refused to give in, and ultimately earned the right to resume selling new Chevrolets. George A. DeMontrond®, III, President and third generation of DeMontrond® Automotive Group, Inc., credits the successful reinstatement to the unwavering determination of the team at DeMontrond® Chevrolet, the strong and vocal support of the communities surrounding the dealership, and the tremendous loyalty of its customers.
"Inventory is arriving daily and the atmosphere at the store is really positive. We are very excited about being back in the Chevy business, but we know it wouldn't have been possible without Texas City's support. We're extremely grateful and proud to be a part of this community," said Mr. DeMontrond®.
Under the personal management of Melissa DeMontrond®, fourth generation in the family business, the Gulf Freeway dealership will undergo a complete facelift beginning in January 2011. Once completed, DeMontrond® Gulf Freeway will have not only updated their current facilities with new and improved Chevrolet and Genesis showrooms, but will also feature a brand new building dedicated the newest addition to the group – Hyundai.
"We are going through an exciting transformation, but we promise we'll always focus on the foundation of my family's business tradition –– providing exceptional customer service that makes you feel like part of our family. As far as I'm concerned, that's the most important part of our business," said Melissa DeMontrond®. "Come see for yourself – The Heartbeat is Back!"
